How to fix vape pen wires?
When it comes to vaporizers it is a quite common issue that they stop working due to their wires. Don’t worry, vape pen wires are unexpensive!
Before you think to throw away your vape pen, first try the following:
- Make sure that all the residue is removed from the heating chamber
- Next, if the chamber is clean you can use a paperclip to make sure the coil is in place
- If the electrical wires are broken the only option is soldering or tossing the device and getting a new one
Let us get to the cleaning part.
Cleaning vape pen wires
The first step is to unscrew the heating chamber from your vape pen. Make sure the vape pen is off before taking it apart. Please do not touch the vape pen if it is too hot.
Next, you need to brush the heating chamber out, make sure you have a dustbin near you. Tap the vape pen against something that has a solid surface to get rid of that loose material. Now take a small brush to clean the edges inside of the chamber.
You can use isopropyl alcohol and dab it on the coil to remove the wax and oil. Be very gentle when it comes to the coil because the wire is the most common reason why your vape pen stops working. When cleaning the chamber, never use water because it can cause a short circuit because there are so many wires.
You can now screw the pen back together and test it. If it does not work, it might need more cleaning or maybe the wire is not in the right place. You can use a magnet to get rid of the metal fragments. Get a small magnet and move it around the heating chamber and the coil to get rid of those fragments that may cause a short circuit. Throw these fragments away and test your vape pen again.
Adjusting the coil
You need to take apart your vape pen so that you can have a look at the inside of the heating chamber. Remove all the pieces until you see the wire coil. Do not touch the coil if you feel there is heat coming from it. Next check if the screws are all in place. If your screws are not in place the chances are the coil is not either. Avoid tightening the screws too much or else the coil will not heat. Then test your vape pen again. If it does not work you may have not a wire problem but a heating problem.
You can use a paperclip and straighten it and use this as an adjusting tool. When you are finish adjusting, remove the paperclip, and turn on your vape pen. If you see the coil is heating up as it should you can put the pen back together again.
Now if your vape pen still does not work you will have to replace the heating element. The cheaper option will be to take your vape pen to a professional, if you just have to replace the heating chamber it will cost you much less than buying a new vape device.
I hope you guys found this article helpful and now know what to look for when your vape pen is giving you problems. Happy vaping!
